Since 1991, we have been working with Tank Elementary School in Green Bay, WI. Employees volunteer in the classroom as tutors and chaperone field trips. Each year we raise money for a student field trip.
We have partnered with Franklin Middle School in Green Bay, WI for over 20 years. Our goal is to raise student awareness of the world of work and expose them to careers in the energy industry. We lead activities such as job shadowing and budgeting simulations.
- Junior Achievement
The program provides a bridge between business and schools. We have sponsored the program since 1980. Employees also volunteer their time.
- Project Lead the Way
Project Lead the Way gives students in high school engineering programs a way to earn recognition or credit from colleges and universities. WPS is involved in Project Lead the Way in Wausau, WI.
- SolarWise® for Schools
SolarWise for Schools places solar panels on high schools. It also teaches students about solar power.

- Business World®
The Wisconsin Public Service Foundation sponsors Business World. The program teaches the value of business and economics education to students.
- Energy Tech Camp
Energy Tech Camp, sponsored by WPS, helps middle school students explore careers related to renewable energy, natural gas and electricity. Camp is held during the summer in partnership with NWTC.
- Get Into Energy
Energy jobs offer promising opportunities. WPS and the Center for Energy Workforce Development are trying to increase awareness of careers in the energy industry. Invite your middle school students or high school students to explore the careers in the energy industry.
- Partners in Education
We partner with local businesses and education leaders. These groups work together to ensure students have the skills needed for the future.
- Trees for Tomorrow
WPS has supported this valuable program since 1949. We give scholarships to high school students and teachers to attend workshops at the center.
